Course fee range from $299 - $395, and it depends on whether its a weekday/ weekend class, if you deliver at TMC or other hospital, if you are FBI/SBI member and lastly the trainer.

For my weekend class by Mrs Wong that would easily cost $370 but signing up at the fair price and using the $30 Abbott voucher i only paid $322.15. The course can also be easily enrolled online. Really looking forward to the sessions.

I also sign up for the 28 Days Confinement Herbal Care programme, that suppose to aid in post delivery recovery.

The confinement period of 30 to 40 days after giving birth is when mothers rest and allow their bodies to heal while replenishing their bodies with plenty of nutrition. While confinement food provides the nutrition for mothers during confinement period, the 28-Day Confinement Herbal Care is an all-in-one TCM supplement that is uniquely prescribed for every mother. Comprising 28 packets of Chinese herbal powder and 2 different types of capsules, the physician will prescribe the medicine upon seeing the mother after delivery.
The medicine will be prescribed according to the 3 phases as below:

Uterus Recovery (3 – 7 days post-delivery)
To aid uterus recovery and expel remnants of blood and tissue from the uterus
Physician will assess patient’s constitution and find out more about the pregnancy and delivery process before prescribing medicine to aid the uterus in contraction for optimal uterus recovery. Digestive Wellness and

Breastfeeding (8 – 14 days post-delivery)
When: up to 21 days after delivery This phase is a crucial turning point for mothers as their metabolism rate returns to normal and the body turns from ‘warm’ to ‘cold’. Thus it is important to warm the body and improve digestive functions as the former can prevent the invasion of ‘wind-dampness’ that could aggravate pain and water retention, while the latter is crucial for the absorption of nutrients that form the foundation for a steady supply of quality breast milk.

Vitality Booster (15 – 28 days post-delivery)
Managing the mother’s constitution is vital at this phase to prevent her from getting ‘overheated’ from the frequent ingestion of tonics that promote energy and blood circulation. Doing this will help mothers regain their pre-pregnancy vitality, combat premature aging and lay a strong foundation for future pregnancies.

More details available on their eBrochure.

Upon payment, no follow up is required until upon admission to hospital.

For fellow mummy delivering at TMC just need to book an appointment upon admission to hospital so you can visit the physician at #03-01 Thomson Medical after you have delivered before going home. While other mummies delivering at other hospitals will need to call their TCM clinics (TMC/ United Square/ I12 Katong / NUH Medical Centre) within a week from delivery for the visit.

The 28 days course of medicine cost $426 ($362 for FBI/SBI member), while the fair offers a promo price of $319. If you miss the fair, can also sign up online at ThomsonBaby.

We also make a booking for their Maternity Ward after a short chat with their consultants. Their maternity packages and estimate hospital bill is provided as a gauge.
